IMPORT - EXPORT RULES AND HELPS
Importing and exporting from the publisher
PC to the Yahoo Web Hosting Servers is not
always as easy as it might seem. We have
some really well defined rules that must be
followed in order to insure good working
sites. Since Version 1.0 of YSB we have...
ToolBox - About these masters
These masters are made for importing and
seeding new SF Units. You can get them by
importing a site at /-/v3-ma/ and they will be
ready to build upon.
About the Code
Theses files have not code stored that make
them unique. They do have hard links to
main landings on the top of the bar (see
yellow embedded links). These pages do not
have Nav-bars loaded to them and they can
be built for any and all SF Units.
How to get started
Do the Import, then rename the files by the or
with the name of the new SF Unit. Save them
in /-/sf/noXX/v3-ma/ if you want to do save as
for them. If you copy the folder, you can name
it /v3-8b-sfXX/ and that will let you import
them to a new site if needed.
Adding Version 4.10 to 3.8 SF
Units - Impacts and Support
The tools of the trade are changing every day
in online publishing. We too, are impacted by
the changes to the browsers. Most makers of
browsers don't care at all about how it
impacts us, therefore we have to be on the
defensive at all times.
IMPACTS
We are impacted greatly and we have made
a small list of things you must keep in mind
as you build pages for replacements in your
respective SF Units. The deployment is
important and the actions we all take vary.
This is only a beginning to the solution that
we are proposing for the team at all sites
effected by our decision to change the way
we deploy the sites. The 1st and most
important rule is to no remove anything, but
to overwrite the folder/files that are not
working to the end result we desire. That
desire is to have every visitor see the site and
it's content. Our plan and deployments are...
